Air blast overpressures and ground vibrations from even properly executed blasts can be annoying or disturbing to residents. Nearby structures may experience vibrations that cause minor damage over repeated blasts. Dust and flyrock are other issues that need to be controlled.

Mitigation measures like buffer zones, blast mats, and limiting charge sizes can address neighbor concerns.
