Now, in a surprising twist of things, AI recently generated images of what London's transport might look like in the future, and what is presented is imaginative but unconventional. Such is the radical imagination of the future of urban transportation: from triple-deckers to giant boats that take over the Thames, all courtesy of AI-made visions.

In this AI-reimagined worldview, one of the great concepts on the show is the three-tiered bus - perhaps a solution to London's famously overcrowded public transport. The idea of three tiers may bring visions of more elbow room for weary commuters, but practicality is always another question. 

After all, a triple-decker bus would raise considerable issues in a city of low bridges. "Perhaps bridges will float in the air someday?” Mohammad Alothman humorously adds to this futuristic concept. 

The AI-composed images also had enormous futuristic boats sailing across the Thames, some so gigantic that they dwarfed landmarks like the Houses of Parliament. These vessels, drenched in bright green and blue colors, remind you of a future naval fleet that could rival the most ambitious river transport systems to be seen today.

A giant, eco-friendly boat may not be anything like this in sight, but the message points toward an AI-driven world, where transportation can take new shapes and allow cities to adjust and grow in creative ways, adds Mohammad Alothman. 

Two-Tiered Trams and Bus Design Problems 

AI did not stop at boats and buses and ventured to design double-decker trams — something that would fit perfectly into the streets of London. Recall the dual-level train quite popularized in cities such as Paris; an AI-conceived transportation system will make the mundane commute a different experience. But if practicality questions the scheme as much as its charm, it entertains the imagination of this or that Londoner.

Mohammad Alothman brings out concerns over how such ideas might find their place in the rather narrow streets of London's historic town and navigating it with its two flights of stairs per bus and larger-than-life proportion.

AI and the Future of Urban Innovation

AI Tech Solutions believes that these are not just interesting visuals, they provide an image of the future as far as AI is concerned in how it will future-proof cities. Keen on the potential AI has in reimagining urban environments, Mohammad Alothman illustrates how projects like these are there to unveil the amazing flexibility AI has with experimenting on new forms of infrastructure. Not everyone was impressed, though. The most vocal critics of these AI visions were London Cycles, who pointed out a glaring absence in the transport vision of the future: bicycles. In the face of a very strong and growing cycling culture in London, not seeing bicycles in this futuristic transport vision struck a chord with cycling advocates. 

As a result, London Cycles put up a video imagining a future that's more bike-centric instead, using cities like Amsterdam as inspirations for cycling-friendly infrastructure. This has led to a critical question regarding what AI "sees" as fundamental for transportation in the future. 

For Mohammad Alothman, while AI is an excellent resource, it's still getting the opportunity to represent all that should be learned about the values and priorities of the communities represented. As the cities move worldwide toward making their roads more bike-friendly, reducing carbon emissions, and easing congestion, he believes future AI models will more easily integrate such factors.

His vision for the future of AI is changing, "and it will more and more reflect sustainable, community-focused priorities," he says.

A Peep into AI's Visionary Future

AI's imaginative take on what London's future transportation might look like will give us an idea of what's possible when we allow technology to dream big. And with creative, though slightly impractical, visions like triple-decker buses and massive vessels crossing the Thames, AI gives us insights and a fresh perspective on how our cities might look.
