If you love dining out, then you know that America has some of the best restaurants in the world. But certain places stand out from the rest - the ones with histories and menus that are so captivating, you simply must visit them at least once in your lifetime. These nine iconic restaurants are among the most renowned in the country, and they're definitely worth a visit if you're a foodie looking for your next great culinary adventure.

1. La Grande Boucherie

I am excited to visit this brasserie! The decor sounds stunning and the menu sounds delicious. I can't wait to try some French classics and bistro favorites, especially with a focus on prime cuts and an in-house meat program. The extensive wine list and classic cocktails also sound fantastic, but I'm especially intrigued by the absinthe-driven signature drinks. Looking forward to a wonderful dining experience!

2. Kochi

Have you heard of Kochi? It's a restaurant located in Hell's Kitchen that has been making waves in the culinary scene. Chef Sung Shim, who has previously worked at Le Bernardin and Per Se, opened the restaurant in 2019, and it has since earned a Michelin star and a Time Out New York Best of the City award. Their menu is heavily influenced by Korean royal court and street food, and they offer a nine-course skewer tasting for American Wagyu, king salmon, and caviar. If you're looking for an even more upscale dining experience, Shim also operates the nearby Mari restaurant, which has received five-star reviews.

3. Hutong

I recently had the pleasure of trying a delectable dish that left my taste buds dancing with delight. The duck had been air-dried for 36 hours and infused with a perfect blend of Sichuan green chilies, star anise, ground black pepper, and Hutong's homemade chili paste. Its skin was perfectly crisp and seasoned, having been roasted for 40 minutes before being set on fire with Chinese rose wine and rum. The aroma that wafted through the dining room was heavenly as the flames rose from the pan right at our table.

4. Best Kept Secret

Hey there, I just wanted to share some exciting news with you! We have received an invitation to Best Kept Secret, a restaurant located in the prime location of 21st Ave & 20th Ave in California. This restaurant has been around since 2022 and is known for keeping the secret of delicious meals in our neighborhood. It's the newest addition to Sunset Districts’ restaurant scene, and it's a perfect combination of lounges and cocktail bars. They're offering a special dinner this Friday night, and they have both street parking and bike parking available.

5. KRU

I recently had the pleasure of dining at KRU, a hotspot in North Central Thailand that offers amazing modern takes on old Thai recipes once designated for the country's royal family. Chef Ohm Suansilphong, who grew up in a restaurant family, partnered with his wife, Kiki Supap, to create this culinary gem. The restaurant's moody dining room is the perfect backdrop for dishes that incorporate elements discovered in historical texts from the 19th century. Suansilphong's masterful command of Thai cuisine is evident in every bite, and I highly recommend trying the Cauliflower "PLA" with Scallop, "LON" with Crabmeat, "Kaeng Pa" Beef Tongue, and the Rice Omelette, which is perfect for balancing out any spice. If you're looking for an exciting meal, KRU is definitely worth a visit.

6. Teranga

I am delighted to share with you that Teranga is a must-visit restaurant run by the renowned Senegal-born chef and cookbook author Pierre Thiam. It offers an exceptional culinary experience that showcases African-grown ingredients and flavors that have been around long before colonization. More than just a dining place, Teranga is also an essential component of The Africa Center. The name Tauranga means "good hospitality" in Senegalese, and the team at this fast-casual spot is incredibly welcoming and friendly.
