Amitabha Bachchan was born on 11 October 1942. The individual is considered one of the most renowned film stars in the history of Indian cinema. The superstar known for his exceptional baritone voice and impressive physique is significant in Bollywood and Indian television history. Originally from Uttar Pradesh, the actor revolutionized the Bollywood industry in the 1970s and early 80s with roles in films like Anand, Zanjeer, Deewar, and Amar Akbar Anthony. Amitabh Bachchan’s movie roles transferred the industry image of protagonists making him popularly known as the angry young man of Indin. The song Kesariya of his Brahmastra movie is very famous.

 Bachchan prominent figure in Bollywood made his debut in 2013 with The Great Gatsby.

Personal Life

Following the release of the 1993 film Zanjeer Amitabha Bachchan married his co-star, Jaya Bhaduri. When the duo first meet at the Film and Television Institute of India Jaya says she fell in love with the actor right away. Amitabh Bachchan confesses falling in love with his co-star on the sets of the movie Ek Nazar. The couple got married and had two children Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan-Nanda. Actor Abhishek Bachchan is well-known in Bollywood.

Rise to stardom

Amitabha Bachchan faced challenges upon his arrival in Bombay even spending a few nights on a bench at Marine Drive. Many People deemed him too dark to play a protagonist in Bollywood. In 1969 Amitabh Bachchan used his deep baritone voice to narrate the award-winning Bhuvan Shome. He made his acting debut as one of the seven heroes in Khwaja Ahmad Abbas’ Saat Hindustani. The 6'1" actor came to the attention of the public when he costarred with Rajesh Khanna as a doctor in Anand, for which he won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. Despite a series of unsuccessful films the young man continued to pursue his dreams.

Movie Career

Amitabh Bachchan's 1991 film Zanjeer directed by Prakash Mehra, revolutionized the industry with his explosive performance. His performance as an angry inspector in Bollywood contrasted with the prevalent romantic heroes that dominated protagonist roles. The angry man of India was a prominent figure who began his rise to prominence. He made his musical and romantic film debut in Abhimaan(1973).  The actor starred in numerous successful movies across various genres and won several awards for his performance. In 1975 the superstar appeared in two of India's greatest films, Yesh Chopta’s Deewar, and Sippy’s Sholay.

The versatile superstar gained critical acclaim for his romantic role in Yash Chopra’s Kabhi Kabhi and his role in the 1977 film Amar Akbar Anthony. The angry young man of Bollywood was also skilled at playing two parts, as shown in films like as the critically acclaimed Don, KAsme VAade, and Adalat. The Bollywood phenomenon continued to receive parts and accolades, and his vocal performance in the 1979 film Mr. Netwarlal earned him a nomination for Filmfare’s Best Male Playback Singer category.

Bachchan became the face of Indian cinema, achieving immense success in films like Suhaag, Dostana, Silsila, and Mahaan, where he played a double role.  The actor survived a potentially catastrophic splenic rupture that he sustained in 1982 while filming a fight sequence for the movie Coolie with Puneet Issar. The country hung its breath but Bachchan resumed filming after being discharged from the hospital a few months later.
